Golden West Invitational: “Where Olympic Careers begin!” These 2016 USA Olympic Marathon Team USA members are all past GWI participants.

Galen Rupp placed 4^th in the 2002 GWI 3200m (8:58.11).
Meb Keflezighi won the mile at the 1994 GWI (4:07.75).
Amy Cragg (nèe Hastings) placed 7th in the 2002 GWI 3200m (10:38.52).
Desiree Linden (nèe Davila) placed 7th in the 2000 GWI. 3200m (10:52.1) and was 2nd in the 2001 GWI Mile (4.54.93).

57th Annual GWI date is all set for Saturday, June 11, 2016. The new venue will be at Oak Ridge High School in El Dorado Hills, California, 8.6 miles from last year’s venue at Folsom High School in the City of Folsom. The hammer will be contested at the Folsom High School track. Meet the new Meet Director: Bob Wright of Oak Ridge High School!
